Hot Fruit Drink

It's amazing how weather and temperature affects your mood! It is winter and it is cold! That don't matter, but somehow some cloudy and rainy days made your feeling worst. Why not trying this simple and easy to make hot fruity drink? It will certainly warm you up and brighten your day!

It is non alcohol and relatively healthy (depends on how much sugar you add - if your blood sugar level is high or if you are suffering diabetes this is certainly NOT for you).

Ingredients:

3 table spoons of Sugar or Brown Sugar (more or less, depend on how much you like sweet or not)
2 sticks of Cinnamon about 5 cm long.
5 pieces of Cloves
500ml of water (or about 2,5 normal glasses of water)
1 fresh lemon (squish, strain it so you get all the juice)

Fruits : (I normally use apple, pear and orange; but you can also use different kind of fruits)
2 apples
1 pear

Directions to cook :

Peel the skin of all fruits, remove the seeds, cut into small chunks/cubes and wash them under running water.
Put the 500ml of water in a medium pan, leave the lid close, let it simmer on the medium fire.
When the water starts to simmer, put all chunks of fruits in, close the lid and leave it boil for about 5 minutes.
Remove the lid, add cinnamon, cloves and sugar in.  Stir gently.
Close the lid and let it boil for 10 minutes until the fruits soft.
Open the lid, add the lemon juice in, stir and leave it boil for 2 more minutes. This way you don't destroy much of the vitamin C in the lemon juice.

Note:
It is better to put less amount of sugar and adjust later by adding some more if you like this drink to be sweeter.

Serve this drink warm in a cup. If you still have some left over to consume later, you can always re-heat it on a medium fire for about 3-5 minutes.

Enjoy it! Warm drink, warm body, warm heart!
